Rebuilding the Temple

Once Ven. Thero arrives to this sacred place there was a small hut made out of clay and a small hall made of clay and wood. And he couldn’t sleep for too many days in that small hut as rats and snakes has fallen from the short roof made out of old leaves. He didn’t have many options other than sleep on the carpenter bench in a small hall. And sleeping in an open area was a risky business among so many wild animals. But thero didn’t get discourage by any of these as he had a one goal in his mind to develop this temple.

There was only a foot path from main road to the temple at that time. And in several places in that foot path there were some large rocks. With the help of some of the villages thero has able to broke these rocks and develop a road to some extend where small vehicle can come in to the temple premises from the main road. According to his story this was a tough task as there were obstacles than the favors, from both in animals and humans. But because of his compassionate mind for others, both human and animals became friendly with him without creating any major problems.

Reincarnation of the Kutiya Temple...

Thanks to the kind attention of former president Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksha and his Secretary Mr.Gamini Senerath, the road of the temple was developed as a fully carpeted road in the expense of millions of rupees. And the road has named after the  Jinawansha Tissa thero’s name as a honor to his dedication and service done towards the temple and adjoining villagers, by provincial council member Mr. R.M.
